Stanley J. Schrader

Stanley J. Schrader, 88, died November 23, 2006 in his Kenhorst Borough residence.

He was the husband of Mary R. (Spuhler) Schrader. He was predeceased by his first wife, Evelyn M. (Berger) Schrader on February 10, 1952.

Born August 29, 1918 in Reading, PA., he was a son of the late Thomas Schrader Sr. and Margaret E. (Nistle) Schrader.

He was employed as a welder for 30 years with Dana Corporation, Reading, retiring in February 1977.

Stanley was an Navy Veteran of WWII and the Korean War.

He was a member of St. John the Baptist de La Salle Roman Catholic Church, Shillington where he was a member of the Knight's of Columbus, 3rd degree.

Stanley was also a former vice president of Polkateer Pals, Pottstown.

He is also survived by a son, Michael A. Schrader of Rangeley, Maine and two daughters, Judith A. Schrader of Reading and Teresa L. Schrader of Exeter Township.

Other survivors include a step-son, Kenneth Marks of Bern Township, 11 grandchildren, two step granddaughters and several great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a daughter, Sandra L. (Schrader) Vaux.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10:00 am in St. John the Baptist R.C. Church, Shillington with the Rev. Thomas Bortz celebrating. Viewing will be held Monday evening 6:30 - 8:00 pm and Tuesday 9:00 - 9:30 am in the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. Burial with Military Honors will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township.
