Stanley F. Pottiger

Stanley F. Pottiger, Jr., 79, passed away August 12, 2014 in his Reading residence.

He was the husband of the late Mary Jane (Lord) Pottiger; they were married on July 11, 1959.

Born in Reading he was the son of the late Stanley F. Pottiger and Mabel J. (Teter) Wessner.

Stanley was a 1953 graduate of Reading High School.

He was employed for over 35 years as a machine operator for Rockwell International before retiring in 2000. Stanley also worked the voting polls at 10th and Green elementary school, and was a past president for the Daniel Boone Coin Club.

Stanley was a long time member of the Wesley United Methodist Church, where he served as a trustee for many years. He was most recently a member of Holy Cross United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his children: Donald S. husband of Jennifer Pottiger, Reading; Glenn R. Pottiger, Sr., Reading; Ronald A. Pottiger husband of Stephanie Bromleigh , Boyertown; and Arlene M., wife of Lewis Moyer, Sinking Spring. Also surviving is sister, Joan Yoder, Muhlenberg Township; five grandchildren, Ashley, Lindsey, Glenn Jr., Camille, Olivia; and three great grandchildren, Saige, Ezme, and Madelyn.

Stanley was predeceased by brothers, Allen Pottiger and Milton Snyder.

Services will be Monday 11 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. A viewing will be held Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m. and Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. in the funeral home.
