Stanley H. Kroll, 73, died of natural causes March 10 at 12:10 a.m. in his residence on Oak Hill Lane, Spring Township.

He was the husband of Irene E. (Allen) Kroll.

Born in Fairbury, Neb., he was a son of the late Francis L. and Viola (Hathaway) Kroll.

Kroll was employed from 1953 to 1978 as a research technologist by the Campbell Soup Co., Camden, N.J., and from 1978 to 1980 as director of research and development by Seabrook Farms, Vineland, N.J.

He was last employed as corporate director of research and product development by Giorgio Foods Inc., Temple, from 1980 until his retirement in 1996. He later served as a consultant for Giorgio Foods.

He was a 1947 graduate of Fairbury High School and a graduate of the University of Nebraska, Omaha, with a bachelor's degree in chemistry. Kroll also did graduate work in food technology at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Boston.

Kroll was an Army veteran of the Korean War.

He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Reading, where he was an elder and deacon.

Kroll is also survived by a son, Stanley A., Green Bay, Wis., and a daughter, Daryl (Kroll) Hanna, Cumru Township.

Other survivors include a brother, Francis, Panama City, Fla.; and three grandchildren.

Memorial services will be Monday at 7 p.m. in First Presbyterian Church. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading, is in charge of arrangements.
