Stanley Hrycyk

Stanley Hrycyk, 69, of 4003 Hill View Road, (Alsace Township), Temple, Pa 19560, died of complications from leukemia October 12th at 12:40 pm in the Hershey Medical Center, where he had been admitted earlier Sunday.

He was the husband of Dolores Jean Camilli.

Born in Chester, he was a son of the late Peter and Julianna (Kopelstey) Hrycyk.

He was a graduate of both Chester High School and Temple University.

Hrycyk was a member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church, Reading and Holy Ghost Ukrainian Catholic Church, Chester.

He worked for a number of years as an Engineer in the Reading and Allentown Plants for the former Bell Labs and AT&T.

Hrycyk was an Air Force Veteran.

He was a past officer for the Reading Flying Dutchman Ski Club.

Hrycyk is also survived by his two cats, Mama and Spot.

Other survivors include a brother, Andrew Hrycyk of Aston, Delaware County and four sisters, Mary (Hrycyk) Kooistre of Astoria, Long Island, New York, Olga (Hrycyk) Treziak of Boothwyn, Eva (Hrycyk) Jones of Dobbes Ferry, New York and Ann Hrycyk of Concordville, Delaware County.

He is also survived by 15 nieces and nephews.

Services will be Thursday at 11:00 am in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., Laureldale. Fr. Uriy Markewych officiating. Viewing Wednesday evening 6:30 - 8:00 pm in the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial in Chester will be celebrated Saturday at 10:00 am in Holy Ghost Ukrainian Catholic Church, 3015 West 3rd Street, Chester, Pa 19013. Viewing in Chester will be Friday evening 7 - 9 pm in Kaniefski, Kendus & D'Anjolell Memorial Home, 3900 West 9th Street, Marcus Hook, Pa 19061. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Leukemia Society of America, Eastern PA Chapter, 2401 Pennsylvania Avenue, Philadelphia, Pa 19130 or to Holy Ghost Ukrainian Catholic Church at the above address.
