Stanley Bem

Stanley Bem, 81, of Ft. Myers, FL, died November 27, 2015 at Health Park Medical Center, FL.

His wife, Rose M. (Howe) Bem, died on November 5, 2000.

Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Peter and Anna (Jarowecki) Bem.

He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict.

Stanley was co-owner of Ted Smith Floor Covering, West Reading, retiring in 1989.

He enjoyed fishing, photography and traveling with Rose.

Stanley was an avid reader and loved cooking.

He is survived his step-daughter, Sandra Karl, N.W. Palm Bay, FL; two siblings, Andrew, husband of Marian Bem, Sinking Spring; and Dorothy Hyland, West Lawn; and one step-grandson, Jason.

Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. Entombment will be in Gethsemane Mausoleum.
