Spiros S. Lecatsas

Spiros Stanley Lecatsas, 72, of Bern Township, entered eternal life December 30, 2007. He was the husband of Marie Betty (Knoll) Lecatsas, whom he married September 22, 1956. Born February 6, 1935 in Reading, he was a son of the late Stanley and Mollie (Karish) Lecatsas. He was a 1952 graduate of Reading High School and Wyomissing Polytechnic Institute, Penn State Extension. He also attended Albright College. Spiros was a member of Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church, Reading, where he was a 10 year parish council member, serving as council treasurer, vice president and served two years as President. He was also active with the annual church bazaar for the last 35 years and was the chairman for the fundraising drive of the building committee in 2000. Spiros was an Army Veteran of the Korean War. He was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Telephone Pioneers of America and the National Rifle Association. Spiros was employed 25 years as an engineer with AT&T, Lucent Tech., Muhlenberg Township until February 8, 1985. He was later employed in sales by Santa Clara Global Systems Engineering Sales, Boise, Id., before retiring in 1997. He is also survived by two sons, Steve M. husband of Joyce M. (Tripolitis) Lecatsas of Sinking Spring and their children, Stephanie wife of Benjamin B. Mowry and Steve Lecatsas Jr.; and Chris A. husband of Michelle D. (Bakker) Lecatsas of Reading and his children, Nicole and Nicholas Lecatsas. A sister, Patricia Zampelli of Kenhorst also survive him. Services will be held Thursday at 10:00 am in Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church, E. Wyomissing Blvd. and Parkside Dr. South, Reading, PA 19611. A viewing will be held one hour prior to services in the Church. Burial will be in Charles Evans Cemetery, Reading. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Church at the above address. Edward J.
