Spencer E. Schaefer

Spencer E. Schaefer, 69, passed away Tuesday, June 5, 2012 in The Reading Hospital and Medical Center after a lengthy illness.

He was the son of the late William and Mary (Brunner) Schaefer and was born December 24, 1942 in Temple, PA.

Spencer lived all his life in the Reading area and managed Schaefer's Tree Farm in nearby Rockland Township.

An avid hunter, Spencer spent many enjoyable outdoor pursuits with friends and family.

He is survived by two sisters: Lynda and Paula, both in the Reading area, and three brothers: Matthew, Reading; Forrest, Holden, Missouri; and Michael, Kansas City, Kansas.

Spencer was predeceased by two brothers: Dufred and Kenneth. A Memorial Service will be Sunday at 5 p.m. in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Rd., Laureldale.
