Sophie H. Zajac

Sophie H. Zajac, 92, of Tilden Township died on October 18, 2011 in the Reading Hospital & Medical Center. She was born on October 18, 1919 in Kaska, PA. (Schuylkill County) and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Victoria (Goras) Orloff. She was predeceased by her husband Henry E. Zajac on 12/15/2003. Sophie and her late husband owned and operated the Indian Fort Inn, Tilden Township for 50 years retiring in 1983. She was a 74 year member of St. Mary Roman Catholic Church. Sophie was a life time member of the Women of the Moose, Lodge #523 of Hamburg. She was a member of the ladies auxiliary to Union Fire Company # 1 of Hamburg and the Shartlesville Fire Company # 1. Sophie is survived by her two sons: Robert J. Zajac, SR. of Hamburg and Henry J. Zajac of Alicante, Spain, 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 11:30 AM from St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, 94 Walnut Road, Hamburg, PA. There is no viewing. Burial will be private in St. Mary Cemetery, Hamburg. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary Church, PO Box 189, Hamburg, PA. 19526. The Burkey & Driscoll Funeral Home, Inc.
