Sophie S. Falkiewicz

Sophie S. Falkiewicz, 86, of Shillington, died February 8, 2009 in Mifflin Center.

She was the wife of Stanley J. Falkiewicz.

Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Anthony and Mary (Grudza) Woytko.

Sophie was a supervisor for over 40 years for H. D. Oritsky Co., Reading, retiring in 1985.

She was a member of St. John Baptist de la Salle Roman Catholic Church, Shillington.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Marcia A., wife of J. Michael Melbert, Lancaster. There are two sisters, Rose S. Seelig, Wyomissing and Kathryn S. Zezenski, Cumru Township. Three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive her.

She was predeceased by two brothers, John and Stanley Woytko, and two sisters, Anna Katrinak and Esther Deppen.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. in St. John's Church. Friends may call Thursday 6:30 to 8 p.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading and on Friday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery.
