Sophie M. Behrenshausen

Sophie Margaret Behrenshausen, 100, formerly of 2029 Spring Street, West Lawn, died September 13th at 1:20am in the Reading Hospital where she had been since September 8th.

She was taken there from the Topton Lutheran Home where she had resided for the last 2 1/2 years.

Behrenshausen was the widow of Friedrich E. Behrenshausen who died May 19, 1995.

Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late August and Doretta (Utermohlen) Behrenshausen.

She worked for a number of years as a sewing machine operator, first at Vanity Fair and last working at West Lawn Knitting Mills until her retirement.

Behrenshausen was a member of West Lawn United Methodist Church.

She is survived by a son, Bernard G. of Spring Township and a daughter, Barbara O. (Behrenhausen) Kasprowicz of Sinking Spring.

Other survivors include five grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

Services will be Tuesday 11:00 am in West Lawn United Methodist Church, Woodside & Noble Streets, West Lawn, Pa 19609. Rev. Jeffrey A. Raffauf officiating. Viewing 10:00 am until time of service in the church. Burial in Charles Evans Cemetery, Reading. Contributions may be made to the church at the above address. Edward J.
