Sonia Roman Rivera, 70, of Reading, died in Reading Hospital and Medical Center on March 14, 2013.
She was Miguel Antonia Rivera.
Born January 16, 1943 in San Juan, Puerto Rico, she was a daughter of the late Ramon and Josefa Roman.
She worked as a legal secretary for Mid Penn Legal Services.
Sonia was a member of Iglesia Cristiana Nueva Esperanza, where she was one of the original founders in 2003. At church, she was a past secretary as well as a bible study techer.
One of Sonia's greatest passions in life was singing.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sons, Miguel Rivera, Jr., and Daniel Rivera, both of Reading, and her daughter, Ruth E. Diaz.
She is also survived by three brothers and two sisters.
Other survivors include her grandchildren, Caleb and Joel Diaz.
Services will be Tuesday evening at 7:30 p.m. in Iglesia Cristiana Nueva Esperanza, 820 N. 9th Street, Reading. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service in church. Burial will be private.
Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., Laureldale is in charge of arrangements.
