Song Hui Ye, 33, of 4001 8th Avenue Temple was killed August 22nd in his business, the Peking Restaurant in the Kamart Shopping Plaza, Fifth Street Highway, Muhlenberg Township.
Ye was tied up, beaten and stabbed to death during an apparent early morning robbery attempt, according to township police and the Berks County Coroner's Office.
He was the husband of Kesheng Zou.
Born in Fuzhou, China, he was a son of Youdi Chen of Fuzhou, China and the late Rendi Ye.
Ye moved to the United States in the early 1990's and bought the restaurant from his wife's family in 1994.
He is survived by two sons; Andy W. (8 yrs) and Michael W. (6 yrs) both at home.
Other survivors include three brothers, Song Kun Ye, Song Gin Ye and Song Guang Ye all of Fuzhou, China.
Service will be Saturday September 7th at 10:30 a.m. in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. Viewing Saturday 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be private in Good Shepherd Cemetery, Tuckerton. In lieu of flowers contribtions may be made to Kesheng Zou Childrens Fund, c/o Millennium Bank, 1200 Broadcasting Road, Wyomissing, Pa 19610.
