Shirley Y Miller

Shirley Y. Miller, 84, formerly of Upper Tulpehocken Township, passed away, Thursday, July 2, 2020, at Culpepper Garden, Arlington, VA. She was the beloved wife of Melvin W. "Sonny" Miller, who died February 29, 2008. Born in Molino, PA, she was the daughter of the late Phillip and Minnie V. (Smith) Stauffer. Shirley was a member of St. John's (Gernant's) United Church of Christ, Leesport. She sang with Sonny Miller and the Happy Valley Boys for 45 years. Shirley is survived by three sons: Allan W., husband of Sherea Miller, Casa Grande, AZ; Brian M., husband of Donna Miller, Centre Township; and Terry C., husband of Elizabeth Miller, Arlington, VA. One brother; Steven Stauffer, Orwigsburg; five grandchildren; Justin A. Miller, Jennifer L. Deisher, Austin A. Miller, Melissa L. Dale, and Colin T. Miller, and six great grandchildren also survive her. She was predeceased by six brothers and sisters. A funeral service will be held Saturday, July 11, 2020, at 11 a.m., at Burkey & Driscoll Funeral Home, 40 S. 4th St., Hamburg. Burial will follow in St. John's (Gernant's) Cemetery. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service in the funeral home from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Shirley's honor to Alzheimer's Association, P.O.
