Shirley E. Whitehead

Shirley Evelyn (Barnes) Whitehead, 67, of Muhlenberg Township, died January 22, 2010 in the Reading Hospital and Medical Center.

She was the wife of Charles William Whitehead, Jr., whom she married September 5, 1970.

Born in Bath County, Kentucky on March 28, 1942, she was a daughter of the late Paul and Edna L. (Lemons) Barnes.

She was a 1960 graduate of Monon (IN) High School.

Shirley is also survived by three sons: Brian R., husband of Linda J. (Watkins) Tyner of Muhlenberg Township; Craig R., husband of Cathy (Rutt) Tyner of Kingston, Tenn., and Charles W. III, husband of Lori (Kline) Whitehead of Lincoln University, PA.

Services will be held Wednesday at 1:00 pm in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. Viewings will be held Tuesday evening 6:30 - 8:00 pm and Wednesday 12:30 pm until time of services in the funeral home. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Exeter Township.
