Shirley Mae (Young) Turner, 83, passed away peacefully March 2, 2012 in her daughter's Muhlenberg Township residence, surrounded by loving family.

She was the wife of Paul John Turner who died June 17, 1981.

Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Hazel (Ritz) Young.

Shirley was the owner and operator of Shirley's Place, on Duke Street in Laureldale for 44 years, closing October 31, 2011. Through her business, she sponsered many pool leagues and baseball teams.

She loved to be around people and was an avid Phillies fan.

Surviving are three daughters: Sharon, wife of Harvey Brown of Muhlenberg Township; Wanda, wife of Charles Stoeber, Sr. of Muhlenberg Township and Cindy, wife of Carl Krick of Bernville.

Other survivors include five grandchildren: Paul and Terry Noll, Melissa Kremser, Charles Stoeber, Jr. and Robert Krick; five great grandchildren and one great grandson.

In addition, she is survived by a sister, Jackie Dell of Laureldale.

Shirley was predeceased by three brothers and three sisters.

Graveside services will be Thursday at 12 noon at Berks County Memorial Gardens, 201 Evansville Road, Maidencreek Township.
