Shirley A. Moore, 81, of State College, formerly of Queen Street, Pottstown and Oley, passed away on Thursday evening, August 13, 2009 in her State College residence.

She was the wife of John J. (J.J.) Moore.

Born in Harrisburg, Shirley was the daughter of the late William A. and Anna L. (Ryan) Allen.

She was a 1945 Graduate of Pottstown High School. She was employed for 30 years as a Data Processing Supervisor for the Valley Forge Army Hospital and then the Walter Reed Army Hospital, lastly working for the Warminster Naval Air Development Center, prior to retiring in 1985.

She served on the Council and as Secretary for the Condominium Association at Regency Square, State college and was a volunteer at Pottstown Hospital for 5 years.

In addition to her husband of 43 years, she is survived by her daughter: Jill (Reidenouer) Burd and her husband Jere of Washington, N.J. Also her 2 Grandaughters: Taryn DeVon Hummel and Tonya Dee McGahey and 4 Great Grandchildren. Also her Nephew: Glenn Allen of Mertztown and 2 Nieces; Jackie Sombers of North Coventry and Tudie Allen of East Coventry.

She was predeceased by her Brother: Eugene DeVon Allen and his wife Jan (Nagle) Allen.

Services will be held in Highland Memorial Park Mausoleum on Thursday, August 20, 2009 at 11:00 am. Entombment will be in the mausoleum. Friends and family are invited to her viewings on Wednesday from 5:00-7:00 pm in Blankenbiller Funeral Home, 423 Main Street, Oley and on Thursday from 10:00-11:00 am in the Highland Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Blankenbiller Funeral Home, Oley, has been entrusted with and is honored to provide for Shirley's final arrangements.
