Shirley Ann Mccarthy

Shirley A. (Androvette) McCarthy, 87, passed away August 3, 2014 in Kindred Care of Wyomissing.

She was the widow of Warren J. McCarthy who passed away February 8, 2003.

Born May 24, 1927 in Staten Island, NY, she was the only child of the late Carroll "Jake" and Anna (Wuethrich) Androvette.

Shirley was a member of Calvary Reformed U.C.C., Reading.

She was a 1945 graduate of Tottenville High School, Staten Island, New York.

Shirley was employed for a number of years as a secretary with Singer Corporation, Manhattan, New York.

She loved spending time with her family and friends and enjoyed babysitting her two grandchildren when they were young.

Shirley also enjoyed bowling, playing golf and was in numerous bridge groups while her husband was alive and for a few years thereafter.

Surviving are her two sons: James K. McCarthy, husband of Suzanne L. Wenzel of Los Angeles, California and Robert K. McCarthy, husband of Julie A. Marbarger-McCarthy, Muhlenberg Township.

Other survivors include two grandchildren: Wesley A. McCarthy and Sydney W. McCarthy both of Muhlenberg Township.

Services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. in Kuhn-Stitzel Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Laureldale Cemetery.
