Shirley M. Holzinger

Shirley M. (Eckroth) Holzinger, 93, formerly of Reading, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2025, at Sinking Spring Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Raymond and Florence (Grebe) Eckroth.

Shirley dedicated 38 years to Ludens, exemplifying a strong work ethic and commitment to her job. In her free time, she found joy in cooking, relished moments at the beach, and took pride in nurturing her flower garden.

She is survived by two daughters, Dianne Gildner, widow of Richard Gildner, Alsace Township and Kristal, wife of Joe Domkus, Frackville. Shirley is also survived by four grandchildren: Bernie Jo, wife of Timothy Gerhard, Jason Lakatos, Brandon Schweitzer, and Eric Schweitzer; four great grandchildren: Sarah Lakatos, Elayna Lakatos, Jayden Gerhard, and Devin Schweitzer; and one great-great-granddaughter, Kentley Hornberger.

Shirley was predeceased by two sons, Randy Schweitzer and Harold Schweitzer; and her brother, Robert Eckroth.
