Shirley Mary Hornberger

Shirley Mary Hornberger, 74, of Shillington, died September 7, 2010 in Topton Lutheran Home, Longswamp Township.

She was the wife of William Gilbert Hornberger, Sr., who died September 5, 1957.

Born January 27, 1936 in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Alfred A. and Edna (Brown) Eckenrod.

Shirley was a graduate of Reading High School and McCann School of Business.

She was employed by various retailers over the years.

Shirley was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ, Shillington.

Surviving is a son, William G., Jr., husband of Stephanie (Mavromates) Hornberger of Bern Township.

Other survivors include a brother, Robert E., husband of Dolores (Culp) Eckenrod of Exeter Township and three grandchildren, Jacqueline M. Hornberger, Jenna N. Schreiber and Jason M. Hornberger.

Services will be private at the conveneince of the family. Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., Laureldale is in charge of arrangements.
