Shirley M. Hoffman

Shirley M. Hoffman, 87, of Hamburg, passed away Monday, March 29, 2021, in Tower Health Reading Hospital.

She was the beloved wife of the late Melvin H. Hoffman.

Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Earl J. and Verna P. (Adams) Berger.

Shirley was a 1951 graduate of Hamburg High School.

She was a member of First Reformed United Church of Christ, Hamburg.

Shirley was employed as a secretary / bookkeeper for most of her life at Balthaser Motors and Wertz Auto Repair, Hamburg. She last worked at Ontelaunee Orchards.

She was a member of Hamburg and Berks County Senior Citizens.

Shirley is survived by a son, James P. Miller, Hamburg. Three grandchildren and five great grandchildren also survive her.

In addition to her husband, Shirley was predeceased by a step-son, Robert L. Hoffman, 1975, and a step-daughter, Melba A. Weller, March 2005.

A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, April 10, 2021, at 11 A.M., at Burkey & Driscoll Funeral Home, 40 South 4th Street, Hamburg. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 10 A.M. to 11 A.M. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Shirley's honor to First Reformed United Church of Christ, 76 South 3rd Street, Hamburg, PA 19526.
