Shirley Hamsher

Shirley Evelyn (Estock) Hamsher, 94, of Reading passed away on September 13, 2024. Born in Emmaus, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Mildred (Heimbach) Estock. She attended and graduated from Reading High School. She is the sister of the late Ronald Estock and survived by sister Joyce Covely.

Shirley was predeceased by her beloved husband of 67 years, Harold L. Hamsher. Of their three children, she is predeceased by daughter Suzanne M. Tietjen, and survived by daughter Deborah Mikes, wife of Jeff Mikes, and her son Jeffrey H. Hamsher, husband of Shelley R. Hamsher. She leaves behind nine grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. In addition to her children and grandchildren, also surviving is her sister, Joyce Covely and nieces and nephews.

Shirley spent years working with her husband and son at their insurance business Harold L. Hamsher Associates. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She and her husband loved taking family vacations and became avid Disney fans over the years, where they created many magical memories together.

Services will be held Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at 11 am at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc.,West Reading, with burial to follow at St. John's (Hains) Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday from 10-11 am at the funeral home.
