Shirley C. Fischer

Shirley C. (Broome) Fischer, 78, formerly of West Wyomissing, passed away July 12, 2007 at Green Valley Terrace Nursing Facility after a long illness. She graduated from Reading High in 1947, and was employed as a phone operator and "house mother" to all the staff at Reading Hospital for 28 years.

She was a member of West Lawn United Methodist Church and the Junior Women's Club of West Lawn.

Shirley is survived by her husband of 58 years, Rodman, Millsboro DE, her daughter, Cathy Jacobs and husband Joe, Bridgeville DE, her son, David Fischer and wife Linda, Cumru Twp., her granddaughter, Shawne and her husband Matt Weinhold, Mohnton and sister, Pat Reber and husband Larry, Laureldale.

She was predeceased by one daughter, Lori Stehman in 2006 and a brother, George Broome. She was a great wife, mother and friend.
