Shirley Jane Carrozza

Shirley Jane (Schmale) Carrozza, 82, passed away June 22, 2013 in her West Reading residence.

Born in Reading she was a daughter of the late Lillian Ergood (Schmale) Reichert and step father Curtis Reichert.

Shirley was predeceased by her loving husband Pasquale Carrozza on December 11, 2010.

She retired from the Berks County Y.M.C.A. in 2006.

Shirley was an extraordinary mother. She was a true inspiration to her family. She was admired for her strength and courage, not only by her family, but also by the caring staff from Life Choice Hospice. Shirley's family extends a heartfelt thanks to those Life Choice staff members who tenderly helped them care for her.

She loved her family more than anything. She often dressed in red, her favorite color, was a huge fan of Elvis Presley and loved her dog, Rusty. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

She was dearly loved and will be forever missed by her five children: Robert P. and his wife AnnMarie Carrozza, Swedesboro, NJ; Patricia J., and her husband Al Matz of Exeter Township; Lorraine J. and her husband Skip Jagielski, Spring Township; Susan M. and her husband Barry Lehr, West Reading and Annette M. and her husband Mike Cruz, Fl. Also surviving are her six grandchildren: Michelle and her husband Ron Ewanick, Lisa Jagielski, Andrea and her husband Chris Levan, Kevin Lehr, Tricia Matz, Krystle Lehr and her two great-grandchildren: Hailey and Wyatt Levan. Four step grandchildren and thirteen step great-grandchildren also survive her. She will also be missed by her niece and dear friend, Shirley Whitmoyer.

Shirley was predeceased by her 5 brothers and sisters: Anna Whitmoyer, William Schmale, Pearl Steffy, Florence Reber and Herman Schmale.
