Shirley Mae Cardell

Shirley Mae (Simmon) Cardell, 73, of Wernersville died of natural causes March 3rd at 3:35 am in the Reading Hospital and Medical Center, where she had been since February 16th.

Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Ammon G. and Essie E. (Moyer) Simmon.

She attended Glad Tidings Assembly of God, Spring Township.

Cardell was a graduate of Reading High School.

She is survived by four daughters, Candace M. (Lepera) Dodson of Cumru Township, Cynthia L. (Lepera) Witkowski of Shillington, Cathy L. Lepera of Exeter Township and Shelly E. (Lepera) Burkert of Sinking Spring.

Other survivors include a sister, Esther (Simmon) Palm of Wernersville and two brothers, Robert Simmon of Spring Township and Sterling Simmon of Wernersville.

Cardell is also survived by a niece that she raised, Linda S. (Youse) Stomhofer of Muhlenberg Township.

There are also 13 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be Tuesday at Noon in Glad Tidings Assembly of God, 1110 Snyder Road, Spring Township. Viewing will be one hour prior to service in the church. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Spring Township. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading is in charge of arrangements.
