Shirley Ann Warmkessel

Shirley Ann Warmkessel, 78, died December 12, 2014 in the Reading Hospital & Medical Center.

She was the wife of Robert P. Warmkessel, Sr..

Born May 29, 1936 in West Reading, she was the daughter of Gordon B. and Edith G. (Weitzel) Greene.

Shirley was a machine operator at Narrow Fabric Industries for 25 years retiring on May 29, 1998.

Known as "Squirrlie" to her friends, she enjoyed camping with the "Rain-n-Shine Camping Club", and "We Totom" Club. She also enjoyed lunching with her friends at the "Senior Club of Laureldale."

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters: Cindy L. McNear, Reading, and Christine A. Bender, Mohrsville: Two step sons, Kevin D. Warmkessel, Womelsdorf, and Keith A. Warmkessel, Blandon. : A step daughter, Kathy M. Warmkessel, Reading; and her brother, Richard G. Greene, Mt. Penn.

Other survivors include eleven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Shirley was predeceased by her son, James G. McNear, and her step son, Robert P. Warmkessel, Jr.

Services will be Tuesday at 1p.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading. Friends may call Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 12:30 to 1 p.m. in the funeral home.
