Sherwood "Woody" Lee Brubaker, 76, passed away on April 18, 2026. Born in Reading, he was the son of Harry and Thelma Brubaker and Henry and Anna Hinnershitz. He was the loving husband of Karen L. (Bradley) Brubaker, with whom he shared 36 years of marriage.
Woody attended Milton Hershey School until his senior year, when he transferred and graduated from Reading High School. He was a talented, self-employed flooring installer/contractor.
A loving husband and father, Woody was knowledgeable and truly a jack of all trades. A true outdoorsman, he felt most at home in the woods, spending time in nature on his property. He found his strength and sense of purpose by traveling the World. He loved traveling with his wife and had a gift for finding adventure wherever life took him. Above all, Woody cherished his family more than anything.
He is survived by his wife, Karen, and his daughters, Anika Morgen, aka Sherry Brubaker, and Puangphen Brubaker. Also surviving are Woody's brothers: Terry Brubaker (Barbara), Mick Eisenhart (Pam), James Hinnershitz and Grant Hinnershitz.
Woody was predeceased by his parents.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Woody's name may be made to The McGlinn Cancer Center or to the Endometriosis Foundation of America.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements. Condolences may be written online at KuhnFuneralHomes.com.
