Sheila Mae Palmieri-Franks

Sheila Mae Palmieri-Franks, 70, passed away on October 31, 2024. She was the beloved wife of David W. Franks.

Born in Reading, she was the daughter of Gloria Mae (Garman) Philips and the late Robert Philips. Sheila graduated from Reading High School in 1971, and worked as a receptionist for Security of America, and in the BCIU until her retirement in 2019. For a time, she also owned and operated Betty's Originals, a gift basket company.

Sheila was the matriarch of our family and everyone who knew her recognized her kind hearted and caring nature. Sheila enjoyed family functions, get-togethers with friends, and an occasional beer or two. She had a unique way of letting her neighbor know when it was cocktail time by doing a rooster call. Sheila had a big heart and would always be there for anyone when needed, she would make you laugh and always knew what to say when comforting was necessary. Sheila was a jokester and loved to "talk British" and was the highlight of any party. She also had a unique talent for chirping like a bird, as if she was communicating with them.

Sheile loved most of all spending time with her family, especially her granddaughters, Mia, Gianna, and Bella. She will be forever remembered as a loving wife, mother, abuela, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. She will be dearly missed.

Left to treasure Sheila's memory are husband, David; children: Adam Palmieri (Raquel), Maegen Spidale (Alex Brown), Amy Hulmes (Robert), and Eric (Emily) Franks; grandchildren: Mia Palmieri, Gianna Spidale, Bella Spidale, Jackson Hulmes, and Beckham Hulmes; her mother, Gloria Mae Philips; and siblings: Carol Goodhart (James), Sandra Parsons (Terry), Scott Philips (Pamela), and Brenda Mell (Philip). She was predeceased by her first husband, Dominic Palmieri, and her sister, Cynthia Flannery.
