Scott M. Kline

Scott Kline, 61, of Reading, passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2026, in the care of Reading Hospital. He was the loving husband of Sherri (Lewars) Kline and had recently celebrated their 14th wedding anniversary.

Born in Reading to the late Russell and Freda (Rader) Kline, Scott graduated from Central Catholic High School.

For many years he worked as a cab driver for Reading Metro. Everywhere he went, there was someone he knew. Most recently, Scott worked as a dispatcher for V&M Towing.

His friendly, outgoing nature and comfort in speaking to strangers made it easy for him to get to know people. He was scarcastic and a jokester. His family could always rely on his "GPS brain" to help them get to where they needed to be. He enjoyed traveling with his family, especially to watch professional sports. He was an avid Steelers and Giants fan and loved NASCAR, especially the career of Jeff Gordan. Scott loved vacationing in Aruba. He especially loved camping with his family and was a master at cooking on the grill. He treasured time spent with his grandchildren.

Scott's family is very appreciative of his family at V&M and the kindness they have always given to him.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Sherri; his children: Jessica Walton and her husband Justin Walton, of NJ; Ivy Shade Kline, who resides in the family home; Jason Shade and his wife Stefanie Shade of Exeter; and Matthew Shade of Reading; grandchildren: Kayla Shade, Braydon Shade, Victoria Shade, Gabriel Shade, Ava Shade, and Jaxson Walton; his Aunt Kathy and Uncle Noly; his nieces and nephews: Breanna Maskalis, her wife Kari Maskalis and their son Sylas; Teonna Ninetto; Jeff Walton Jr.; and Zachary Chavez; his cousin, Chewy; and his sisters-in-law, Tonia Ninetto and Melonie Schwarz. He is also survived by his brother from another mother, Dale Roberts.

In addition to his parents, Scott was predeceased by his brother, Jeffrey Kline, and his cousin, Moose.

Contributions in Scott's memory may be made to a college fund being established for his daughter Ivy's education.

A Celebration of Life service for Scott will be held on Monday, July 20, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc, 739 Penn Ave, West Reading PA 19611.
