Scott William Knies

Scott William Knies, 44, died January 12, 2010 in his Laureldale residence.

Born March 1, 1965 in Lima, Chester County, he was a son of Robert Carl Knies, Sr. with whom he resided and the late Alice Ann (Swartman) Knies who died June 3, 2008.

Scott was a graduate of Muhlenberg High School in 1983 and Berks Technical Institute where he became a Certified Novell Administrator.

He was employed as a truck driver with Brook Ledge, Inc., Oley for eight years and most recently as a Guardian with Supportive Concepts for Families, Reading for three years, last working Monday.

Scott was a member of Goodwill Fire Company Beneficial Association, Hyde Park; Muhlenberg Ambulance Association for 24 years, where he also was former active crewman; Oley Rod and Gun Club; Chandler Lodge F&M #227 and Olympia Association, Philadelphia for 20 years.

Also surviving is a brother, Robert Carl, Jr., husband of Lisa Ann (Stumhofer) Knies of Louisville, KY and their daughter Kayleigh Ann Elisabeth Knies.

Other survivors include an uncle, Robert and his wife Jane Swartman of Gibsboro, NJ and their children: Ann Rutkowski of Lititz, Karen Delany, of Lancaster, Terry Rodier of Delran, NJ and MaryBeth Kerbaugh of Mullica Hill, NJ.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., Laureldale is in charge of arrangements.
