Sarah Ann "Nan" (Fox) Bailey, 94, of West Lawn and formerly of Springfield, Delaware County, died February 3, 2011 at Phoebe Berks Healthcare Center, Wernersville.

Her husband, James Joseph Bailey, died September 26, 1996.

Born September 22, 1916 in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late John Charles and Agnes Rose (McNamara) Fox.

Sarah was a 1934 graduate of West Philadelphia High School.

She was employed with Philadelphia Children's Bureau for four years, helping to place children in homes.

Sarah was also employed in the cafeteria of Springfield High School for ten years.

Along with her husband, she was a founding member of St. Ignatius Loyola R.C. Church, Whitfield. They were also members of the nondenominational fundraising organization, Kirby Smith Associates for fourteen years.

Surviving are five children: James J., husband of Shirley E. (Batdorf) Bailey of West Chester; John C., husband of Elizabeth (Chambers) Bailey of Coatesville; A. Richard, husband of Elaine (Rinaldi) Bailey of Malvern; Sally (Bailey), widow of Leo J. Dete, III. of Atlanta, GA and William J., husband of Sharon K. (Kunz) Bailey of Exeter Township.

Other survivors include ten grandchildren, six great grandchildren and two nephews, Bernard T. and Joseph J. McGettigan.

Sarah was predeceased by a sister, Rose Agnes McGettigan.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. in St. Ignatius Church, 2810 St. Alban's Drive, Sinking Spring, PA 19608. A visitation will be held one hour prior to mass in the church. Interment will be in Berks County Memorial Gardens, Maidencreek Township.
