Sara Jean Reber, 70, of Virginia Beach, VA, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2026, in Pottstown, Pennsylvania.
Born in Elmira, New York, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Dorothy (Poorman) Reber. Sara was a graduate of Penn Cambria High School, Class of 1974. She worked at the Ebensburg Courthouse for a time after graduation. After moving to Virginia Beach in 1984, she became a legal assistant and worked for various law firms.
Sara cherished her friends and the many lasting friendships she made throughout her life. For Sara, once a friend, always a friend. She had high school friends, beach friends, Bunco friends, work friends, and dog-walking friends. And some of Sara's best friends were four-legged and furry! There wasn't a dog that didn't love Sara, nor was there a dog that Sara didn't love. Everyone knew their dog would be loved and spoiled when Sara was caring for it.
Sara also enjoyed traveling - to the beach, to the mountains, or to another country. It didn't matter where she went, Sara brought laughter and joy and shared it with whoever she was with.
Sara is survived by two brothers: Kenneth Reber (Carol) of Pottstown and Richard Reber (Kay) of Albany, GA; her sister, Joann Devich (Daryl) of Reading; and seven nieces and nephews. She loved her family very much and treasured the times spent together, especially vacations, holidays, and celebrations like weddings, anniversaries, graduations, and birthdays.
A memorial service for Sara's friends and family will be held at Abundant Life Church, 320 West Main Street, Birdsboro, PA, on Saturday, September 19th at 11:00AM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hope for Life Rescue, 610 Jack Rabbit Road #3, Virginia Beach, VA 23451.
Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc. is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be recorded at kuhnfuneralhomes.com.
