Santo John Russo, 81, died April 9th in his residence at 1940 North 17th, Reading, Pa 19604.

He was the husband of Frances Marie (DeGeorge) Russo.

Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Antonio and Josephine (Torcivia) Russo.

He was a 1941 graduate of Reading High School.

Russo was a Army Veteran of WWII.

He was a member of Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, Reading, where he was a member of the choir for 64 years and a eucharistic minister.

Russo was also a member of the serra club, 4th degree Knights of Columbus and Treasurer of the Holy Name Society.

He was the owner/operator of Fifty-Fifty Tuxedo, Reading from 1953 - 1993. He has remained at the business, now operated by his sons, last working April 6th.

Russo is also survived by two daughters, Josephine A. (Russo) Miller of Lancaster and Kristine M. (Russo) wife of Harry T. Wholaver of Shillington.

Other survivors include two sons, Anthony D. husband of Esther M. (Azzarello) Russo of Douglassville and Gerard S. husband of Louise A. (Correnti) Russo of Spring Township.

There are also two sisters, Jennie (Russo) Fonti of Exeter Township, Rose (Russo) Fritz of Kenhorst and two brothers, Samuel Russo and Charles Russo both of Wyomissing.

Also surviving are nine grandchildren.

Funeral from Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading, Wednesday 9:30 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10:00 am in Holy Rosary R.C. Church, 237 Franklin Street, Reading, Pa 19602. Viewings Tuesday evening 6:30 - 8:30 pm and Wednesday morning 8:30 - 9:30 am in the funeral home. Entombment in Gethsemane Mausoleum, Muhlenberg Township. Contributions may be made to the church at the above address.
