Santo A. Bocchichio

Santo A. Bocchichio, 81, Wyomissing, died July 10 at 8:45 a.m. in Reading Hospital, where he had been a patient since Saturday. He was the husband of Jane H. (Light) Bocchichio.

Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Paul and Lena (Parzanese) Bocchichio.

Bocchichio worked 43 years as a tow-motor operator at Dana Corp., Reading, retiring in 1990. Bocchichio also worked for the last 15 years as a greeter at Wal-Mart, Wyomissing.

He was an Army veteran of World War II, receiving a Purple Heart.

Bocchichio was a member of St. Margaret's Roman Catholic Church, Reading.

Also surviving are three daughters: Karen (Bocchichio) Smith, Wyomissing; Nicky (Bocchichio), wife of William Polakovich, Summit Hill; and Melissa (Bocchichio), wife of Paul Hacker, Exeter Township.

Other survivors include a sister, Mary (Bocchichio) Borgese, Lexington, S.C.

There are three grandchildren: Christopher and Matthew Hacker; and Dr. Jane Elizabeth Cavanaugh.

Bocchichio was predeceased by a brother, Frank Bocchichio, and a sister, Lillian (Bocchichio) Kolnych.

A viewing will be held Thursday from 8 to 9:30 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. in St. Margaret's Church. Burial will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery, Laureldale.
