Santa Maria Cerniglia, 77, of West Lawn, died October 25, 2006 at 7:10 p.m. in Reading Hospital where she had been since October 4.
She was the wife of Antonino Cerniglia.
Born in S. Stefano di Camastra, Messina, Italy, she was a daughter of the late Antonino and Rosa (Torcivia) Torcivia.
Santa was a seamstress for many years for Charlie Torcivia's Wiener's Men's Clothing, Reading. Later, she was a seamstress for Pomeroy's until her retirement.
She was a member of Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, Reading.
Other survivors include 4 brothers, Sebastiano Torcivia, Milan, Italy, Salvatore Torcivia, S. Stefano di Camastra, Messina, Italy, Santo Torcivia, Sarnia, Ontario, Canada and Letterio Torcivia, Wyomissing and one sister, Nina (Torcivia) Cuva, West Lawn. There are also 2 nieces and 5 nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. in Holy Rosary R.C.C. Entombment will be in Gethsemane Mausoleum. Friends may call Saturday from 8 to 9:30 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading. www.kuhnfuneralhome.com
