Sandy J. Flowers

Sandy J. Flowers, 89, of Wyomissing, passed away January 24, 2014 in The Reading Hospital and Medical Center.

His wife, Edna (Mirabella) Flowers, died July 17, 1996.

Born February 28, 1924 in Shamokin, he was a son of the late Daniel and Mary (Comardo) Flowers.

He was a 1941 graduate of Shamokin High School.

Sandy was a letter carrier for the Berkshire Greens and Glenside areas for 38 years, retiring in 1987.

He was a member of St. Margaret's R.C. Church, Reading.

Sandy was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the Battle of the Bulge in WWII; earning Purple Heart and Good Conduct medals.

Most importantly, Sandy was a good husband and father. Everyone that knew him said he was a nice man.

He is survived by his daughter, Diane Flowers, Wyomissing; his sister, Mary, wife of Aldo Ciotti, Whitfield; and his nieces and nephew: Monica Armao, Andrea Stoudt, and Aldo Ciotti, Jr.

Sandy was predeceased by his son, Daniel Flowers, in 1990, and his brother, Joseph Flowers.
