Sandra Kay Dake

Sandra Kay Dake, 76, of Shillington, passed away on March 6, 2026, in the care of Reading Hospital. She was the loving wife of Lewis L. Dake, Jr., with whom she would have celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary in May.

Born in Reading, PA, to the late John H. and Betty Lee (Berger) Adam, Sandy graduated from Muhlenberg High School in 1967.

She worked as an office clerk for UGI, the Luzerne Electric Division, and Penske Truck Leasing for many years. She left the workforce to raise her family, and she was grateful to be able to have that time with her children. Later, she returned to Penske before transitioning to work as the Activities Director for Mifflin Court, a Genesis HealthCare facility, and later worked as a daycare provider at Tiny Treasures.

She loved spending time with her family, cherished her grandchildren, who were the light of her life, and spoiling her granddogs, Mason and Riley.

A dog-lover at heart, she was known in her neighborhood for giving treats to all the dogs who passed by her home. Sandra loved the sunshine and spent many hours outdoors. Her favorite vacation spot was the beach. She loved spending endless hours soaking in the sun and listening to the waves. Sandra also loved tending to her flowers and herbs. She especially enjoyed getting the first taste of spring by visiting the Philadelphia Flower Show. She enjoyed playing games of all kinds, and was an avid hockey fan. She spent many hours over the years cheering for the Reading Royals while attending the games with Lewis and Stephanie.

Left to treasure Sandra's memory are her husband, Lewis; their daughters, Stephanie L. (Dake) Nocera, wife of Tim. C. Nocera, of Kenhorst, and Susan E. (Dake) Fisher, wife of Nickolas Fisher, of West Chester; grandchildren, Isabelle M. and Elizabeth K. Fisher; and sister, Bonnie Green. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Edwin Adam and her nephew Daniel Adam.

A celebration of life for Sandra will be held privately at her family's convenience.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be offered to the Humane Society, humanepa.org/donate/.

Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc, is entrusted with arrangements. Condolences may be expressed at kuhnfuneralhomes.com.
