Sandra "Sandi" DeFranco Giannini, 68, passed away December 3, 2022, in her Perry Township residence.
Born in Roseto, PA, she was a daughter of the late Martin and Dorothy (Bradoka) DeFranco.
She was the loving wife of Leonard A. Giannini. They married on May 21, 1988.
Sandi was incredibly talented and creative. She graduated from the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia, where she won the prestigious Cresson Traveling Scholarship in 1985. She also met many life-long friends while attending the Academy. Sandi went on to become an award-winning Impressionist artist, who frequently had solo exhibitions in galleries in New York City, Philadelphia, and the surrounding area. Her work was featured in numerous publications, including American Artist magazine in 2001. Later in her career, she spent time teaching, exhibiting, and exploring other media, such as pottery. She will live on through her artwork for many years to come.
While art was her passion, she loved her friends and family more than anything. Her warm contagious smile lit up every room. Her caring nature and friendly personality will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Sandi was the most supportive and positive person, and always found the best in people, especially those closest to her. She was so proud of her family, especially her two granddaughters. Sandi was very close to her "Grammy" when she was young, and wanted nothing more than to be a grandmother herself.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Philip M., husband of Kaitlyn C. Giannini, Collegeville, and Martin A., husband of Kaci L. Giannini, Shoemakersville; two sisters, Cathy, wife of Alan Kent, AZ, and Lisa, wife of Brad Grannis, AZ; and two granddaughters, Emerson C. Giannini and Mia J. Giannini. She was predeceased by her brother, Anthony DeFranco.
