Samuel A. Torcivia, 84, of Shillington, died April 22, 2010 in Reading Hospital.
His wife Rose (Russo) Torcivia died October 20, 1981.
Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Nicholas and Frances (Piro) Torcivia.
He was a veteran of the US Navy serving during WWII.
Samuel was employed for 30 years by the City of Reading as a Police Officer, retiring in 1986. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, Reading.
He is survived by two children, Frances C. Weaver and Caroline Klink both of Reading; and three sisters, Marie Minns, Reading; and Carmela Graeff and Nancy Conner, both of Florida. Two grandchildren, Christopher Clark West Reading and Melissa Stroumbakis, Mohnton and seven great-grandchildren also survive him.
Services will be Monday at 1:30 p.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery. Friends may call Monday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. in the funeral home. Online condolences may be recorded at www.kuhnfuneralhome.com.
