Samuel Cirulli, 88 of Shillington, died Wednesday, June 2, 2009 in the Reading Hospital and Medical Center after being a patient for several weeks.
He was the loving husband of Grace F. (Lehn) Cirulli whom he just celebrated 61 years of marriage on May 29, 2009.
Born on February 12, 1921 in Gibraltar, he was a son of the late Belisario and Antoinette (Chicarini) Cirulli.
For over 50 years, Sam was owner and operator of Sam's Shoe Repair Shop, Shillington, PA, where he worked with his son John Samuel Cirulli.
Sam was a member of St. John Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Shillington.
He served in the 777th Air Material Squadron in the U.S. Army Airforce in WWII. He had recieved the European African Service Medal, American Theatre Service Ribbon, and World War II Victory Medal.
Sam was a life-time member of Shillington Social Quarters.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Celest wife of Patrick Sweeney of Hyde Park; his son, John Samuel of Shillington; two grandchildren, Audrey Yoder and Dane Clay; and a great-grandson, Dane Clay. His brother, James husband of Catherine Cirulli of Reading and his sister, Julie (Angstadt) Cirulli of Reading also survive him.
He was predeceased by two brothers, Alfred and Anthony Cirulli and four sisters, Theresa, Angie, Anna, and Mary Cirulli.
