Dr. Samuel E. Ciriaco, 79, died in his residence March 18 at 7:52 PM in his residence at 4972 Kutztown Road, Temple. He was the husband of Jean E.(Toberman) Ciriaco.
Born in Reading he was the son of the late Cosimo and Concetta (Curro) Ciriaco.
He was a self employed family physician for 35 years, practicing in his residence, retiring in January 1987. He was a graduate of Reading High School in 1941. He received his BS degree from Villanova University in 1945. He graduated from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1952.
He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Dr. Ciriaco was a past member of and former Board President of the Muhlenberg School Board. He served on the Board from September 1964 to December 1967.
He was social director of the Muhlenberg Rotary Club.
He was the Medical Examiner for 15 years serving the Boy Scouts Troop #147, Temple.
He provided numerous preceptorships for the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.
He was a lifetime member of both the Temple Fire Company and the VFW Post # , Stony Creek.
In addition to his wife he is survived by one son Dr. Michael A., Exeter Twp. and three daughters Michele L. (Ciriaco) Tucci, Temple, Deborah J. (Ciriaco) Ahrens and Patricia A. (Ciriaco) Boccagno, Surprise, Arizona. There are also 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Friends may call Saturday 9 AM to 11 AM in Christ Funeral Home 3300 Kutztown Road Laureldale. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Joseph's Chapel c/o St. Joseph's Hospital attn: Rev. Hank Gonner P.O.
