Salvatore A. Curro

Salvatore Andrew Curro, 81, of Muhlenberg Township, passed away peacefully on November 28, 2007 at 11:28 am in St. Joseph Hospital, Bern Township, surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Mary Ruth (Lewis) Curro, whom he married August 1, 1952. Born September 27, 1926 in Reading, he was a son of the late Andrew and Mary Jane (Gravagna) Curro. He was a 1944 graduate of Reading High School. Salvatore was employed 13 years as a driver salesman with Maier's Bakery, Reading, before retiring in February, 1988. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War. Salvatore was a member of Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, Reading and a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus. Other survivors include three children, Andrew T. of Mohnton, Diane L. wife of Jan G. Reber of Muhlenberg Township and Salvatore A. Jr., of Muhlenberg Township. There is also a sister surviving, Nancy widow of George Coller of Reading. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Nicole A. Curro of Reading and Ensign Terra A. Reber of Norfolk, Virginia and one great granddaughter, Mercedez A. Rios of Reading. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated in the Holy Rosary R.C. Church Chapel, Reading, with Rev. Msgr. Felix Losito celebrating. Burial was in Gethsemane Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Holy Rosary R.C.
