Ruth M. Watters

Ruth M. Watters, 93, of Bern Twp., passed away Wednesday, August 23, 2017, in Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center.

She was predeceased by husbands Carl C. Reistad and Erwin S. Watters, Sr.; son Erwin S. Watters, Jr., daughter Ruth M. Allen; sisters Dorothy Killen and Esther Harman; and brothers Robert Grill and Joseph Grill.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Robert H. and Esther F. (Donohue) Grill.

Ruth was a long time member of Atonement Lutheran Church, Wyomissing.

She worked as a secretary and office assistant for the Reading Railroad, credit union and as a bank teller, but her real job and joy was raising her family.

Ruth is survived by two children: Carl R. Watters, husband of Carolyn Watters, Exton; Leslieann, wife of Michael Moyer, Wyomissing; daughter-in-law Gillian Watters, NC; four siblings: Patricia A. Phillips, TX; Donald J. Grill, Altoona; David Grill. FL; and Thomas Grill, Rydel. She is also survived by nine grandchildren: Cynthia, John, Sonia, Georgina,

Gemma, Carlye, Josh, Coreen, and Whitney. There are fifteen great grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, August 31, 2017, at 11:30 AM in Atonement Lutheran Church, 5 Wyomissing Blvd., Wyomissing, PA 19610. A committal service will follow in Atonement Lutheran Church Columbarium. Friends may call one hour prior to the service in the church.
