Ruth W. Watson, 93, formerly of Shllington, passed away Thursday, October 12, 2017, in Auburn, California.

She we was predeceased by her husband Ercell I. Watson.

Born in Savannah, Georgia, on September 9, 1924, she was the daughter of the late William Henry and Cora (Hayes) Winston.

She worked as an administrative assistant at the Reading Rehab. Hospital and as an administrative assistant for the PA Conference of Seventh Day Adventist for 25 plus years, until her retirement.

Ruth grew up in Charleston, SC and was a true southern bell. She was the youngest of all twelve siblings in her family and was a social butterfly. Ruth was a devout Christian woman with very loving, caring and selfless characteristics. She was always giving to her family and the church. Ruth was a profound and excellent writer, public speaker, and accomplished pianist. She was active member in Kenhorst Blvd. SDA Church where she served as the church superintendent, sang and played piano. Ruth had a strong involvement and interest in politics.

She is survived by four children: Lloyd R. Watson, Marquita D. Watson, both of California, Ersula I Watson, Oregon, and Mark I. Watson, Hamburg. Other survivors include ten grandchildren, Leslie Bray, Roger Watson, Ercell Watson, Marshall Mason, Matthew Mason, Corae Baker, Perryn Baker, Tecoria Simpkins, Courtney Watson, and Malachi Watson, eight great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, and grand nephews.

Ruth was predeceased by eleven siblings.

Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Birdsboro Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made Pine Forge Academy, P.O.
