Ruth K. Seidel

Ruth Kathryn (Sunday) Seidel, 92, formerly of Bern Township, died July 15, 2011 in Berks Heim, Bern Township.

She was the wife of Jack Kenneth Seidel who died in 1994.

Born July 23, 1918 in Hamburg, she was a daughter of the late George Washington and Naomi (Zimmerman) Sunday.

Ruth was a 1936 graduate of Reading High School.

She was employed as a bookkeeper with American Casualty, where she retired from in 1947.

Ruth was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Muhlenberg Township.

She was an avid bowler and enjoyed going to golf tournaments.

Surviving are three children: Jack C., husband of Judy L.(Beadle) Seidel of Laureldale; Karen L. (Seidel), wife of George I. Witman of Lebanon and Janice L. (Seidel), wife of Garry L. Forrer of Muhlenberg Township.

Also surviving are eight grandchildren: Kristin, Nicholas, Ryan, Morgan, Jordan, Heidi, Justin and Garret and eight great grandchildren.

Ruth was predeceased by a sister, Orpah E. and a brother, George R. Sunday.

Services will be Thursday at 12 p.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading, with the Rev. Barry Spatz officiating. A viewing will be held one hour prior to services in the funeral home. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Exeter Township.
