Ruth J. Schwoyer

Ruth Josephine Schwoyer, 79, of Laureldale, died June 17, 2009 in ManorCare Health Services, Inc., Muhlenberg Township, where she had been a resident since April, 2008.

Born March 20, 1930 in Pottstown, PA., she was a daughter of the late Charles R. and Anna M. (Fink) Schwoyer.

She was a graduate of St. Aloysius Grade School, Pottstown and a 1948 graduate of Central Catholic High School, Reading.

Ruth was employed a number of years as a secretary with the Department of Labor & Industry, Office of Employment Security, Reading, retiring in September of 1990.

She was a member of Holy Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church, Hyde Park.

Ruth was a past president of the Catholic Woman's Club of Berks County.

She was also a volunteer at Berks Heim and Meals on Wheels.

Ruth is survived by a sister, Marie A. (Schwoyer), widow of Robert J. Keltz of Laureldale.

She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Ruth was predeceased by seven siblings: Florence Dusko, Barbara Stahl, Alice Schwoyer, Helen Schwoyer, Francis Schwoyer, Robert Schwoyer and Lawrence Schwoyer.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10:00 am in Holy Guardian Angels R.C. Church, 3121 Kutztown Rd., Hyde Park. A viewing will be held one hour prior to Mass in the Church. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township.
