Ruth N. Mitchell

Ruth N. (Davis) Mitchell, 87, of Cumru Township, passed away January 1, 2019, in Berks Heim. She was the widow of Edward G. Mitchell, who passed away May 7, 2015. Married on November 15, 1953, they shared over 61 years of marriage. Born in Frackville, she was the daughter of the late Earl B. and Beatrice M. (Brocius) Davis. She was a graduate of Frackville High School. For most of her life, she was a housewife and dedicated her time to her children.

She loved to play bingo, build puzzles and knit.

She is survived by four children: Edward Mitchell, Port Clinton; David Mitchell, husband of Brenda, Robesonia; Ruth Ann, wife of Dennis Guiles, Cumru Township; and Gail, wife of Vincent Long, Reading. There are also seven grandchildren: Rebecca, Cassandra, Kyle, Sean, Colin, Charles and Josh. There are two step-grandchildren, David and Tiffanie; two great-grandchildren, Ethan and Joanna; and five step-great-grandchildren: Taylor, Kiah, Jade, Logan and Jaxson. She is also survived by her brother, Roy Davis, husband of Eleanor, Reading.

She was predeceased by six siblings: Lois, Ethel, Beatrice, Earl, Maynard and Betty.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, January 7, 2019, at 10 a.m. at St. John's RCC, 42 Kerrick Road, Shillington, PA 19607. Burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 6-8 p.m. at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, West Reading. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the church at the above address.
