Ruth M. Moatz

Ruth Mary (Kantner) Moatz, 82, of Cumru Township, died February 19, 2013 in The Reading Hospital and Medical Center.

She was the wife of Samuel Henry Moatz, whom she married April 13, 1957.

Born January 11, 1931 in Laureldale, she was a daughter of the late Joseph P. and Mary (Gristick) Kantner.

Ruth was a 1949 graduate of Reading High School.

She was employed as a seamer with Talbot Knitting Mills.

Ruth was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Fleetwood.

She enjoyed camping and fishing in Delaware and playing cards with family and loved cooking and baking, but above all, she loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, surviving are her three children: Robert S. Moatz of Temple; Terry L., husband of Rose M. (Snow) Moatz of Womelsdorf and Cheryl L. Palasz of Ft. Myers, FL.

Other survivors include four grandchildren: Brandon and Rebeka Moatz and Kristin and Lydia Snyder.

Ruth was predeceased by three brothers, Joseph P. Kantner, Jr., James Kantner and Robert Kantner.

A Memorial Service will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
