Ruth May (Yocom) Hartman, 90, formerly of Country Meadows, died June 9, 2015, in St. Joseph's Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Earl C. and Stella (Weitzel) Yocom.
She was a graduate of Wilson High School.
In her early working career she enjoyed working at the Miller's Delicatessen Reading Farmer's Market. She also had Ruth Hartman's Delicatessen at the Shillington Market. She waitressed at Mountain Springs and Jimbo's in Temple finally working at Western Electric retiring from Lucent Technologies in 1989.
She was a member of Atonement Lutheran Church, Wyomissing.
Ruth was a major league bowler at Laurel Lanes for ten years; she loved the Phillies, casinos and playing cards with her family. Most of all she loved her family and spending time with them.
Survivors include four children, Linda S. (Ralph A.) Fick, Alsace Twp.; Bonita M. (Richard J.) Harris, Mechanicsburg; Jeffrey R., Stevens; and James R. (Denise L.), Temple. There are four siblings, Joyce Maier; Sandra (Kenneth) Fischer, Cumru Twp.; David (Barbara) Yocom, Lansdale; and Sheryn Murray, Summerville, SC. Seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and her companion, Charles Milbrandt also survive her.
She was predeceased by four siblings, Bernard Yocom, Mary Kuser, Louise Ellinger and William Yocom.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in Atonement Lutheran Church, 5 Wyomissing Blvd., Wyomissing, PA 19610, with a viewing held from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the church.
