Ruth Louise Ruccius

Ruth Louise "Lucy" (Lowe) Ruccius, 92, passed away December 6, 2018, at The Highlands at Wyomissing.

Her husband, Frederick E. Ruccius, Jr., passed away in 1988. Ruth Louise and Frederick were married on August 13, 1949.

Born in Catawissa, she was the daughter of the late First Lieutenant William Lowe and Freda (Roberts) Lowe.

A Schuylkill Haven High School graduate in 1944, Ruth attended both Penn State and Thomas Jefferson Universities.

She was a medical technologist at Jefferson Hospital, Philadelphia, Montgomery Hospital, Norristown, PA, and Grandview Hospital, Sellersville, PA.

Ruth Louise was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Reading.

She was a member of the Board of Trustees at Muhlenberg College, was a leader for the Campfire Girls, and was a member of the Elverson Garden Club.

Four children survive her: Frederick E., III, husband of Pearl Ruccius, Malvern; William L., husband of Janet Ruccius, Houston, TX; Ann L. Ruccius, Bethel; and Karen L., widow of DeRay Hobson, Lava Hot Springs, Idaho. Eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren also survive her.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Military Order of the Purple Heart Service Foundation, P.O. Box 49, Annandale, VA 22003.
