Ruth A Kostival

Ruth A. Kostival, 76, of Reading passed away November 10, 2016, in the Reading Hospital.

She was the beloved wife of Francis "Frank" Kostival.

Born in Freeland, PA, she was the daughter of the late John and Victoria (Kushner) Hollod.

Ruth was a 1958 graduate of Foster Township High School and 1961 graduate of Germantown School of Nursing.

She was a former member of St. Anthony of Padua R. C. Church and current member of St. John Baptist de Lasalle R. C. Church, Shillington.

Ruth was employed by the Reading and Oley Valley School Districts as an aide with for special needs children.

She enjoyed going to the Jersey Shore, reading, pinochle and her grand-puppies. But most of all she loved spending time with her family.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Christine A., wife of Steven Gaspari, Wernersville, and Karen K., wife of Brett Thayer, Bechtelsville. She is also survived by her siblings, Bernard, husband of Theresa Hollod, Allentown; Marie Pomeroy, Old Bridge, NJ; Sue, wife of Tom Moller, Rahway, NJ; and Vicky, wife of Bill Donahue, Somerset, NJ; and granddaughter, Kelsey Thayer.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, November 18, 2016, at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Resurrection at Gethsemane Cemetery with burial to follow. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to St. John Baptist de Lasalle, 420 Holland St, Shillington, PA 19607. Edward J.
